Drawing A Better Future

Drawing a better future

The children in Istanbul have been enjoying the sketch books I sent over to them. Translating the inspirational English quotes the students wrote into Arabic, the students in Istanbul are learning that across the globe they are known, have other young people wishing them well and sending good thoughts. To realize you are not alone in this world, that others from a different culture and sometimes religion, are thinking of you and reaching out is powerful to a child of war. The project continues as we explore topics such as resiliency, embracing identity, multiculturalism, and the power of the arts to create change.
